On 12 th March 2020, Kenya reported the first case of Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19). Immediately after this, the government, county governments, faith-based organisations, nonprofit organisations and the media embarked on an aggressive awareness campaign on the pandemic and preventive measures. PACIDA in collaboration with Caritas Germany, National Emergency Response Committee and County Government of Marsabit undertook an aggressive awareness campaign in the county of Marsabit. Dubbed Komesha Corona Campaign, the initiative was launched by His Excellency the Governor of Marsabit County on 17 th April 2020. The event was attended by other non-state actors. The team covered all the four sub counties – Saku, North Horr, Laisamis and Moyale reaching at least 70% of the total population.
